ASD:Suite Release 3 v8.2.0

ASD:Compare is a feature of the ASD:Suite that helps you to identify and eliminate differences between two versions of the same ASD model, or differences between two related or unrelated models.

ASD:Compare does not have an installer of its own. To install the ASD:Compare, install the ASD:Suite and specify that you want to install the ASD:Compare too. For details see "How to set up the ASD:Suite".

Note: Next to a (graphical) desktop client, an ASD:Compare command-line application is available too. See "How to use the ASD:Compare command-line application" for usage guidelines.

ASD:Compare is designed to support your software development process. The following list introduces several ways of starting ASD model comparison using the ASD:Compare:

  1. from the ASD:Suite desktop client (select the "Tools->Compare" menu item in the ASD:Suite desktop client),
  2. from the command line (see "Load models using ASD:Compare via the command line"),
  3. using the context menus of the Window Explorer (see "ASD:Compare via the Windows Explorer"),
  4. using your version control system (see "How to integrate the ASD Compare in your version control system").
The following figure shows the start-up screen of the ASD:Compare after loading two ASD models:

Note: ASD (Analytical Software Design) is Verum's own technology for software development. ASD makes it possible to create systems from mathematically verified components. This technology is supported by the ASD:Suite, which, amongst others, contains a desktop client used to define models that specify both structure and behaviour of services and components that implement and use these services. For more information about the ASD:Suite desktop client see the "ASD:Suite User Manual".
